WINDY HILL, KILMACOLM, SCOTLAND - £3,000,000
Windyhill is one of the most important 20th Century modern British houses. Located in the village of Kilmacolm, 29 miles west of Glasgow, Windyhill is one of only two houses conceived and designed under his own name by Charles Rennie Mackintosh, and the only house to be held in private hands.
Collected the world over Charles Rennie Mackintosh is leading figure in the Art Nouveau movement and perhaps one of the most celebrated figures from the Glasgow School of Art.
Today, Windyhill has been restored by the present owner to near museum quality and is an important and fine example of Rennie Mackintosh’s work. A substantial six bedroom house Windyhill sits in two acres of gardens, is located on one of the best roads in the village and overall in a very beautiful setting.
We are delighted to offer further information upon request, including a brief history of Windyhill and biography of William Davidson, the gentleman who thankfully commissioned Charles Rennie Mackintosh to build the house in 1900.
Both fascinating reports were commissioned by us from The Hunterian Museum, University of Glasgow, and we would be delighted to share them.
